March Meeting

The March meeting for the PRBC was held last night at 5th St. Brew Pub and minus the racket from the kitchen renovation it was a very productive meeting. You can certainly tell the cycling bug is in the air as the weather starts to warm! We have quite a few things on the schedule in the coming months so be sure to keep checking back as we will keep posing new events and here. I also hope to have a new calendar with better functionality up and running soon. Here is a brief list of upcoming events:
*March 13th (this Saturday) - 1:00 - Bothwell Lodge MTB trail maintenance day - (tentative: waiting to hear back from park manager regarding permission forms) This will be a light duty maintenance day where we assess the trail conditions, remove thorn bushes close to trail, and trim branches in the trail corridor. Bring gloves, bypass pruners, and maybe a bucket or two. We plan on scheduling more intensive work days as needed.
*March 17th - 8:00 PM - St. Patrick's Day night ride - meet at the Katy Depot for a slow paced ride suitable for riders of all abilities.
*March 24th - 5:30 PM - Wednesday night rides start up again at the Clarendon Rd. trail head (PRBC trail head). Weekly group rides on the Katy Trail as well as a break out group on the road if there are enough participants. The idea of these rides is for everyone to have someone to ride with.
*April 24th - 1:00 PM - April Wine Ride - meet at the middle school on Ingram for a ride to the winery Cole Camp. Much fun to be had by all.
*May 19 - 7:00 PM - Ride of Silence - A ride in honor of cyclist that have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. More info available at http://www.rideofsilence.org/main.php
*Mid May we will be having the next bicycle safety clinic and are hoping to partner with the Boys & Girls Club - we are currently in the process of getting this time and date scheduled.
*August 28-29 - Sedalia Criterium & Otterville Road Race - Races put on by the PRBC as our main fundraiser for the year. Volunteers are definitely needed so clear your calendars.

Well, it's finally up. My apologies for such a lapse in time since the last update. However, after hours of work the new website is up and functional. There are new features now and more new features to come soon, so please check back often. |

This weekend the PRBC held the fifth annual Sedalia Criterium and the third annual Otterville Road Race. We would like to extend a huge thank you to all our sponsors and the city of Sedalia, and the community of Otterville. These events would not be possible without your help. These events would also not be possible without all the hard work of the volunteers. We could not have done it without each and every one of you, thank you very much. We also have links to the full and official race results at USA Cycling below. Thank you to the officials for getting the results posted so quickly!
