Race Weekend Big Success
This weekend the PRBC held the fifth annual Sedalia Criterium and the third annual Otterville Road Race. We would like to extend a huge thank you to all our sponsors and the city of Sedalia, and the community of Otterville. These events would not be possible without your help. These events would also not be possible without all the hard work of the volunteers. We could not have done it without each and every one of you, thank you very much. We also have links to the full and official race results at USA Cycling below. Thank you to the officials for getting the results posted so quickly!

Mid-Summer UpdateWell here we are, already the month of August. First thing is first; I need to apologize to any of the readers that have been faithful enough to keep checking back over the past couple months only to be sorely disappointed by outdated and/or incorrect information. Things are back in gear now and the calendar has been updated with the most recent information. There are a ton of exciting things coming in the next few months including the Sedalia Criterium, KTE, and of course the Tour of Missouri. Keep checking back for more news as it comes.

Busy Month of MayWell everyone, things are getting into full swing. The weather is improving and it's warming up. PRBC has several great things going on this month. First off, is the Ride of Silence coming this Wednesday (May 20th) at 6:00 PM. We will meet at the Clarendon Rd. Katy Trail head (PRBC trail head). This is a slow paced honoring those that have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. For more information visit the Ride of Silence website. We also have a new weekly ride starting this Thursday in addition to our Wednesday night trail/road rides and Friday night Mountain Bike rides. We will start this Thursday Night Time Trials which begin this Thursday (May 21st) at 6:00 PM. We start on 32nd street near Skyline Elementary. This is non-competitive (no prizes, money, etc.) but is a great training tool and way to chart improvement as the season goes on, plus it's a great time and good excuse to get on the bike and hang out with some friends. The time trials will be held the First and Third Thursdays of the month. Ebby has been gracious enough to volunteer for timing for the Third Thursday of the month but we will be looking for assistance timing the first Thursday. Also keep in mind that PRBC does have a team signed up for the MS-150 and anyone that would like to join is more than welcome. Also remember that if you join the team PRBC will donate an additional $25 to the MS Society to match your entry fee. There are some other events coming up that will need to be voted on at the next meeting. The PRBC Picnic will be held in June (13th, 20th, or 27th). We also have the Katy Trail ride coming up in October. This will be an end-to-end multi-day ride. We are suggesting the 16th or 23rd at this time. So, check you calendars and bring your votes to the next meeting ?Thanks for reading and keep riding! Last Updated (Monday, 18 May 2009 01:46) |
